After over a decade of rolling on the mats in Jiu-Jitsu, I've learned a thing or two about the wear and tear it can put on the body. I actively train as a Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and understand the pain, fatigue and limited mobility you can experience. The fact is, there are two kinds of people who train martial arts: Those who are injured and those who are going to be. By taking a proactive approach with physical therapy we are able to correct imbalances, combat fatigue and prevent future injuries.
Ever feel like you are using one side of your body to compensate for a muscle imbalance? We all have imbalances, and it is a major cause of injuries. After an initial assessment we will form a plan to help balance out muscles while improving overall mobility, leading to better technique and keeping you injury free!
What you do after sustaining an injury makes all the difference. My goal is to get you back as soon (and as safely) as possible. I understand the sense of identity and community you have when training martial arts and what it feels like you are missing. A thorough evaluation helps target the root of the injury which is key to making sure the injury doesn’t return. My goals are to reduce pain in the short-term and prevent recurrence in the long-term. This may include different ways to temporarily modify specific techniques or movements based on your condition which will allow your body to heal without losing time on the mat.
